The DilemmaAs a mom of a five-year-old girl, I have attended countless birthday parties in the past few years. With each event, comes the inevitable trip to the toy store to find an appropriate gift for the child of honor. I began to dread the gift-buying process. There are numerous licensed movie costumes available.* Be sure to buy an 'Official Licensed Costume' if available. This will help ensure that the child will be able to recognize the costume, as it will be made according to licensing specifications.* Check the size and buy the right one. Nothing is more disappointing than receiving a costume and it not fitting. Make sure you buy the right size.

Li-Po batteries are smaller, lighter and hold more power than their predecessors (Nickel Cadmium and Nickel Metal Hydride). There are three specifications that need to be taken into consideration when making a Li-Po battery purchase for your electric model airplane.
The voltage of the battery will tell you how powerful it is, the amperage rating will give you an idea how long it will last, and the burst/constant power rating will tell you how quickly the power will discharge. A major difference between Li-Po batteries and others available for RC model airplane use is that it is much easier to mistreat the battery thereby creating unsafe situations...

In the recent past, almost all rc airplanes were powered by small internal combustion engines, using liquid fuels. Models powered by electric motors were few and far between. The electric rc airplane is now becoming much more common, especially in models designed for beginning pilots. Electric power advantages include reliability, convenience, low noise, low vibration, and lack of fuel residue (clean). ?The disadvantage of early systems was low power.
However recent electric airplane motors, combined with advanced batteries, have increased the performance of electric rc airplanes dramatically. ?In the more common Brushed motors, current switching is done using sliding contacts known as brushes. The contacts get hot and wear out over time. In Brushless motors, the switching happens electronically using a special voltage regulator (speed controller). This second type of motor and its controller are more expensive to make.
